DJ Plead makes his debut on Smalltown Supersound with a new LP of experimental electronica entitled Please. While initially known for his clubbier blends of house and techno infused with snatches of wedding music instrumentation from his native Lebanon, Plead has recently used the full length format to expand his palette further, and deeper. Please emerged from a period of self-doubt (hundreds of demos, an entirely written and then scrapped album, etc.) as a slice of life collection largely about the process of making music itself. While homespun in nature, these tracks are far from slight, sliding from smoky ambience to lush waltz-like movements with ease.
