The New Orleans-based nu-gaze mainstay gets deep into it, reflecting on nocturnal fantasies through a haze of chugging, re-amped goth guitar, blown-out drums and suspended, diaphanous vocals. It’s like the last gasp of Loveless, glazed into something new. On the flip, humming, hymnal waves of harmonic white noise are disrupted by a powdery rhythm that nods to Bowery Electric's liminal milestone 'Beat’, a heightened dream-world amplified by layers of distortion and pure feeling. The thing with this kinda thing is that you can bury average songs in intrigue & stuff, and it all sort of sounds the same, but the songs are this good - and trust, they are just so good - it’s pure alchemy.
