Richie Culver’s Quiet Husband alias follows a limited edition 12” and that Vantablack tape box from a couple of weeks ago with another blink-n-miss transmission from the other side, this time deploying two longform sides of obliterated rhythmic noise in a mode somewhere between Wold and Maasami Akita. Keeping it visually stunning and contextually opaque, Culver drops more breadcrumbs in pursuit of his slowly evolving creative practice, offsetting the droll messaging of his visual art with something that - at least on the face of it - is much harder to decipher. Made in a run of just 30 copies, we’re given little to go on other than the cracked mirror of that stunning art, and a title that tells us that the rage here is driven by something beyond the viscera. Time will tell where any of this is going but, meantime, we’re fully committed to the ride.
