“Music from the Closet" is the first vinyl album on Fungo and it is signed by Floresta Oblíqua. It brings together music created between 2023 and 2025, recorded live inside a closet and released to celebrate his 50th birthday: proof that a confined space is no limit for the imagination. The album distils six years of dedicated exploration through synthesizers, pedals and other analog micro-worlds into six pieces of intimate, meditative electronic music. Distributed across two sides, it moves between long modular drifts, small noises both celestial and drawn from deep magma, and a quiet, persistent investigation into the nature of electric sound — all shaped by a deliberately confined mental and physical space. A personal milestone turned into vinyl, and a reminder not to leave your ideas behind. Floresta Oblíqua is the alter-ego of Mário Alexandre, a Lisbon-based musician whose fascination with sound has been a lifelong constant. The vast possibilities of the analog world — its knobs, cables, synthesizers and pedals — became the main vehicle for that curiosity, opening a path of relentless sonic inquiry. Somewhere between a methodical interrogation of machines and the construction of otherworldly atmospheres, his music inhabits a space of wandering sound environments shaped by near-minimalist composition and the influence of organic textures that are not always visible or within reach. Sounds drawn from nature, from noise, from deep and distant places — processed, layered and set free into something altogether new.
