Lines is an artist’s book by Laura Pilar Delgado that reinterprets fabric patterns recovered from an old interior design shop in Madrid. Originally in color, these patterns were digitized and reduced to their most essential lines. Printed in risograph using four inks—grey, black, fluorescent pink, and yellow—the palette aligns with the artist’s practice, bringing depth and continuity across mediums. The book’s format, with no cover and bound with Singer stitching, is inspired by the Moleskine notebooks Delgado uses as field journals. This choice highlights her creative process and gives the object a personal, intimate quality. Lines is a celebration of the everyday, in tune with Georges Perec, who invites us to rediscover what so often goes unnoticed. It was published on the occasion of the exhibition Cartografías de lo cotidiano at the Mad is Mad gallery in Madrid (January–February 2024).
