Why do so many writers kill themselves? So many different reasons. While researching, Aaron Krach found that over 300 published writers have all chosen suicide. To make sense of this painful statistic, Krach took his list of names to the Brooklyn Library every day between Feb. 23 and Mar. 16, 2024. He checked-out every available book by an author who committed suicide and carried the books back home. There he rubber-stamped each one with this information, scanned the marked title page, and then returned the books back into general circulation. This book contains every scanned title page from this action. Krach considers this only half of his project, the other existing in distribution, a scattered “sculpture” moving from shelf to reader and back again, touching people, building experiences, and adding knowledge.
