Dans un département où la crise se fait sentir peut-être plus qu'ailleurs, il s'agissait de donner une image du quotidien et de documenter la vie de ces villes, de ces femmes et de ces hommes, au fil des saisons. Et puis voir évoluer tous ces enfants et ces jeunes qui devront construire le futur des Ardennes ou faire le choix de penser leur avenir ailleurs et prendre part à l’exode qui fragilise peu à peu le territoire. » _ « The series Ardennes was created over time and throughout several trips. In an area where perhaps the economic crisis is more felt than elsewhere; this project was about documenting and giving representation to the lives of these towns, these women and men, over the changing seasons. It was also about bearing witness to an evolution of all of these children and the young who will have to build the future of the Ardennes or make the choice to think about their own future elsewhere and thus be a part of the exodus that weakens the territory little by little. » « Alexa Brunet was invited for a residency by Diaphane, a photography center in the Region Of Hauts de France. She chose to develop a series on the lives of the youth from the rural area of the Somme. She documented their daily lives over two years. »
